Wedding Checklist-For Grooms

For The Groom

12 months before:

o Pick out bride’s engagement ring.

o Decide on the type of reception you want.

9 months before:

o Visit clergy member or judge with your fiancée, to discuss ceremony.

o Start planning your honeymoon with your bride.

o Determine number of guests you are able to invite.

6 months before:

o Hire transportation to the ceremony and from the reception.

o Plan rehearsal dinner with parents.

o If traveling overseas: check your passports, arrange for visas and the international drivers license.

3 months before:

o Complete guests lists.

o With your bride, select wedding rings.

o Make list of honeymoon clothing.

o Make housing arrangements for out-of-town attendants and guests.

o Order your wedding attire.

 

 

6-8 weeks before:

o Check marriage license requirements.

o Select gifts for bride and ushers.

o Update your bridal registry.

o Pick up wedding rings; check engraving.

o Plan guest seating for the reception and make place cards for them.

o Give or attend bachelor party.

2 weeks before:

o Get marriage license with your fiancée.

o Double-check reservations for you trip.

o Arrange with the Best Man for transportation from the reception to the place of the honeymoon departure.

1 week before:

o Make all the moving arrangements necessary for your new home.

o Explain special seating at the ceremony from family to head usher.

o Plan romantic dinner for you and your bride.

o Make appointment with your bank and check your credit cards, travelers cheques, etc.

o Pack; get your going-away clothes ready.
